Visual Principles - Perception
This week lecture touches on the Gestalt principles which work on the law of perception. It's also known as law of simplicity which breaks down information into its simplest form which are easier to identify and remember.
We humans tend to remember images by patterns which can be formed by grouping visual information based on certain prinicples namely: proximity, similarity, continuity etc... Good use of Gestalt will be easily understood by the viewer while poor use will result in viewer ignoring the images.
For the classroom exercise, I have to create 3 images to demonstrate any 3 Gestalt principles. I chose parallelism, proximity and similarity.
