Me, Myself and I
Hmm the topic sounds like I'm so over myself but actually...

It's NM2208 first assignment where I have to:
1. Select 2 words which best describe my character.
2. Develop 4 design concepts for each word.
3. Select 1 concept from each word which I like most (total 2 concepts).
3. Select 1 concept from each word which I like most (total 2 concepts).
4. Further explore and develop (full scale roughs) at least 2 variations of each selected concept.
5. Produce and present my selected designs on A5 size papers.
5. Produce and present my selected designs on A5 size papers.
Stage 1:
For this assignment, I chose "Archery" as my love and "Smoking" as my hate.
These are the thumbnail sketches that I have drawn for "Archery". Some of them do not fit the criteria as they consist of external elements and I did not incorporate them into my name.

Next up are the thumbnail sketches for my hate, "Smoking".

Next up are the thumbnail sketches for my hate, "Smoking".
Stage 2:
I have to develop 2 selected concepts further into full-scale roughs.
and for my hate of "Smoking", I chose the 2nd thumbnail...
And here are the 2 roughs for "Archery",
and the 2 roughs for "Smoking"...

However, all of them have external elements and they do not have any connection with my name. During the critique session, my classmates suggested that I make the letters of my name for "Archery" to more cursive style.
Therefore, I had to come up with new designs.
For "Archery"...
and for "Smoking"...
Stage 3:
I have to develop 1 selected rough for each word into prototypes.
For "Archery"...
and for "Smoking"...
During the critique session, my classmates suggested to input colours for my "Archery". For "Smoking", I should standardize the colours for "C" and "R" (use the colours of cigarettes) and "H", "I" and "S" (one dull colour for these 3 letters). They recommended to change the colours for my hate to duller colours as the current one looks like I love smoking.
And here it is...
after I added in the colours for my final prototype for "Archery". I used the colours of the target sheet used in archery. I really had a hard time using Illustrator to colour it. So out of frustration, I had to resort to using Paint. The effect is definitely not that outstanding.
After more work, here are the final prototypes...
For my love of "Archery"...
For my hate of "Smoking"...
